Z 104B: single-storey house with a curved white roof resting on a sculptural column and a glazed facade, in a garden.

The project materialises the gesture of a continuous topographic inflection: monolithic mass becomes a fluid blade that dissolves the boundary between shelter and landscape and recalibrates the contemplative relationship between the individual and the horizon.

MMatter

A perpetual dialogue in which matter moulds itself to the topography.

EEnergy

The cornice line draws a continuous wave that scans the horizon, generating a horizontal tension that absorbs the twilight; the exterior rhythm is dictated by a cinematic succession of columns and sculptural volumes.

MMemory

The atmosphere held within these limits is one of silence; here, time itself dictates a slowing down, perfectly suspended between the still mirror of the lake and the quiet dynamics of the volume.

SSpace

The boundary between inside and outside generates a spatial continuum that invites introspection; under the massive, protective vault, the perception of human scale adapts and induces a state of absolute calm.

The refusal of the right angle and of the conventional residential box, in favour of a single architectural gesture: a curved, sculptural blade that reconciles the monumentality of mass with a radical sense of floating.

The project is a deliberate reaction to the rolling topography: the form was generated by a fold along the lines of force of the terrain and works as a mediating lens between the human scale and the vastness of the horizon. Matter acts as a receptive screen, calibrated to capture, modulate and reflect the spectacle of the sun; light shapes the perception of weight, and matter gives light a body to rest on.

How can a monolithic mass seem to float above the landscape?

Matter and atmosphere

The illusion of weightlessness of the monolithic mass, achieved by turning the load-bearing structure into fluid sculpture.
