A contemporary space born from the memory of the primary form, in which raw matter and the rhythm of light turn a compact sculptural volume into a refuge dedicated to permanence.
The rhythm of the vertical grooves sculpts a materiality that refuses absolute smoothness and opens a physical and visual dialogue between the protective roughness of the envelope and the fragile, immaterial clarity of the glass.
The visual dynamics are governed by a permanent tension: the deep openings, framed by metal profiles, catch the raking light and create a lively rhythm of sharp shadows, in contrast with the calm of the flat surfaces.
A silent witness, the building returns to the archetypal form, a silhouette cleared of ornamental noise, which settles into the site with weight, defying the ephemeral and declaring its belonging to the place it occupies.
Space dictates a choreography of intimacy and exposure: the upper registers, protected by massive panels, hide the core of living, and the ground-floor cut-outs turn nature into a living picture, framed by the geometric logic of the architecture.
Instead of a rendered surface, the envelope is given rhythm by deep vertical grooves that break up the raking light through the day, giving the mass a tactile and optical vibration.
A town plot in Voluntari and a simple brief: a house for a family, on three levels, in a compact volume. The primary form, with its gabled roof, answers the context of individual houses; the difference lies in the envelope: vertically grooved timber and the metal profiles of the openings. The raking light of morning and evening breaks the grooves into fine shadows, and the deep openings keep the upper floor protected and the ground floor open, towards the garden and the pergola.

Matter and atmosphere
The deep openings, framed by prominent metal profiles, work as incisions that catch the raking light, in a lively rhythm of sharp shadows that contrasts with the calm of the flat surfaces.
